MMB's 2nd Annual "Step it Up for Charity" Stair Climb was a Great Success!
On Thursday, October 20, 2005, the Rochester community once again rose to Mengel, Metzger, Barr & Co. LLP's challenge to "Step it Up for Charity" by climbing 19 flights of stairs to raise funds for a local not-for-profit organization. Over $4,200 dollars were raised for this year's beneficiary, St. Joseph's Villa of Rochester.

Participants solicited a minimum of $35 in pledges from family, friends and co-workers . . . and then laced up their sneakers and headed to the HSBC Building in downtown Rochester. About half of the participants showed their competitive side by climbing the 19 flights for an official race time, while the other half climbed at a more leisurely pace in a "stroll lane" for fitness and fun.
The following participants were awarded great prizes, courtesy of Clear Channel WHAM:
Ann Oates - Greatest Fundraiser ($1,000!)
Ann received a certificate for a night on the town, which includes a 4-hour limo ride and a $100 restaurant gift certificate.
Paul Gabriel - Fastest Climber (19 flights in only 2 minutes 11 seconds!)
Paul received a one-night stay in a Toronto hotel.
We sincerely thank all who helped make this event a success, and look forward joining you again next year as we "Step it Up for Charity"!
